Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment offers eligible high school students the opportunity to enroll in college coursework to earn both high school and college credit. Through a partnership with Midlands Technical College, Lexington Two provides this opportunity for students to earn college credits while still working towards their high school diploma at no cost.

Early College Grads

 

Lexington Two offers three Dual Enrollment options for students:

  • Early College Cohort
  • General Studies Certificate
  • Independent (Stand Alone) Course Enrollment

*In each pathway, students take a minimum of two (2) courses or six (6) credit hours each semester.

 Eligibility

 

Dual Enrollment:

  • Rising 11th or 12th grader
  • Good standing (grades, attendance, behavior)
  • Principal and Counselor recommendation
  • Meets Midlands Technical College entrance requirements for college level courses
  • Must commit to a minimum of two classes (6 credit hours) each semester of enrollment
  • Eligible PSAT, SAT, ACT or ACCUPLACER scores
OR
  • Meets MTC Multiple Measures requirements
 
 
 

Early College:

  • Rising 10th grader
  • Summer Commitment
  • Good standing (grades, attendance, behavior)
  • Principal and Counselor recommendation
  • 3.0+ GPA on current transcript
  • Ranked in top 25% of class
  • Student Interview and Teacher recommendations
  • Meets Midlands Technical College requirements for college level courses.
  • Eligible PSAT or ACCUPLACER scores
OR
  • Meets multiple measure requirements

 

Transferring Dual Enrollment Credits

Students should check with the college(s) they are interested in attending in order to verify course transferability. Colleges and universities have the final say regarding how college credit transfers to their institutions. Additional information on college course transfers and articulation agreements can be found on the website for the S.C. Transfer and Articulation Center, www.sctrac.org.
