WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Monday, Oct. 22, was a second first day of school for some Lexington Two students.
The state-of-the-art Lexington Two Innovation Center, or L2IC, opened its doors for the first time to high schoolers, featuring dual enrollment and Advanced Placement courses as well as a variety of career and technology programs for career and college readiness.
The center, at 509 Bulldog Blvd., Cayce, is includes a variety of programs, among them culinary arts, firefighting, digital multimedia and design, welding, auto mechanics, electricity, health science, sports medicine and more.
Boxes are still being unpacked, but a formal dedication of Lexington Two’s newest facility -- part of a $225 million package of school improvements approved by voters in 2014 -- is expected later in the year.
