Lexington Two's nearly 500 graduates in Class of 2024 earn estimated $17 million in scholarships

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – As many of Lexington Two’s Class of 2024 graduates are heading to college campuses this fall, they are doing so with nearly $17 million in scholarships.

In addition to the scholarship dollars, the roughly 500 graduates from Airport High School and Brookland-Cayce High School also had other recognitions. Here’s a look by the numbers:

  • 218 Honor graduates, GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • 20 Palmetto Fellows
  • 375 LIFE and HOPE qualified scholarship recipients
  • 30 Early College program participants who earned college credits at no cost during the high school day
  • 27 South Carolina Seal of Biliteracy recipients
  • 11 AP Scholars
  • 2 South Carolina Teaching Fellows
  • 2 National Merit Scholarship finalists or semifinalists

Career-bound graduates saved more than $200,000 by completing their training for professional certifications at the Lexington Two Innovation Center (L2IC) during the high school day, rather than taking the training post-graduation.

Among the in-state colleges drawing the highest numbers of Class of 2024 Lexington Two graduates this year are the Midlands Technical College, University of South Carolina (and Honors College), Clemson University (and Honors College), Newberry College, Winthrop University, USC Upstate, USC Beaufort,  Francis Marion University, SC State University, Claflin University, and Lander University.
