WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Applications are now open for Lexington Two’s dual enrollment and Early College programs, which give high school students opportunities to earn college credits -- free -- during the school day.
The application deadline for both programs is Tuesday, March 15. ALL on-time applicants will be notified of their eligibility by April 30.
DUAL ENROLLMENT
(For rising 11th and 12th grade students)
Eligible high school students can take two college courses each semester of their junior and senior years, with the courses counting as both college and high school credit. Students can complete as many as 8 college courses and earn 24 college credits.
Requirements:
- Must be in good standing (grades, attendance, behavior)
- Submit eligible PSAT, SAT, ACT or ACCUPLACER scores
OR
- Meet multiple measure requirements and counselor recommendation
- Meet Midlands Technical College entrance requirements for college level courses
- Submit Midlands Technical College dual enrollment application

EARLY COLLEGE FRESHMAN COHORT
(For current ninth-grade students)
The district’s Early College program, in partnership with Midlands Technical College, allows students to take free college courses, with an opportunity to earn an associate degree and potentially enter a 4-year college or university with as much as half of their bachelor's degree already completed.
Requirements:
- A three-year commitment, including summers
- Submit eligible PSAT or ACCUPLACER scores
- Three teacher recommendations
- Interview with Early College staff
- Meet Midlands Technical College requirements for college level courses.
