All students will have remote learning day on Thursday, March 18

WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- All Lexington Two students will have a remote learning day on Thursday, March 18, in an abundance of caution due to forecasts of potentially severe weather.

School buildings will be closed. There will be no athletics, clubs, activities, and/or events held on school grounds. After-school programs and adult education classes are also cancelled.

No student meals will be available on Thursday, March 18. Curbside pickup of student meals for Virtual Academy students, normally scheduled for Thursdays, will be moved to Friday, March 19.

The latest National Weather Service forecast includes the potential for damaging winds, tornadoes, and heavy rains. Weather officials are encouraging residents to have a plan for safe shelter during severe weather and multiple ways to monitor weather warnings.

Classes are expected to resume on a normal schedule Friday, but the district will continue to monitor weather, road and school conditions, in consultation with emergency management officials, and will update Lexington Two families if changes to that schedule are needed. Watch local media for storm-related updates as well.
