WEST COLUMBIA, SC -- Lexington Two has released its 2019-20 academic calendar.
The calendar designates the first day for students as Monday, August 19. Current state law requires that no South Carolina public school start classes before the third Monday in August.
The final day of classes for students will be a half-day on Wednesday, June 3.
The new calendar also designates a two-week winter break, week-long spring break, and weather makeup days as required by state law.
The calendar was approved by the school board at its March 21 meeting. Input on the calendar was gathered from district schools, Superintendent Parent and Teacher Cabinets, administrators and others.
