These proactive searches are one of the many ways we work to maintain a safe and secure learning environment for our students and staff.
📌 Please take a moment to review the prohibited items listed in the poster and talk with your student about what cannot be brought onto school property or to district-sponsored events.

Are you a non-certified Lexington Two employee, a substitute teacher, or someone in another career field who has thought about becoming an educator? Do you have a bachelor's degree and want to know about alternative certification pathways to becoming a teacher? If so, come to an informational meeting from 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 13 at the District Education Center, 3205 Platt Springs Road, to learn more about alternative certification routes such as CPACT, CarolinaCAP, APEC, online teacher programs, and more. Lex2 families of middle and high school students are invited to an open house at the Innovation Center from 5-6:30 p.m. September 1. The first hour will be spent visiting classrooms and talking with instructors, with the final 30 minutes an overview of career pathways and programs with Director Schiria Wilson. Lexington Two uses the I Love U Guys Standard Response Protocols for security and medical events. :Families received an email from the district in early August explaining these protocols. However, you don't need much time to get the overview -- watch this video of students titled: "5 Minutes, 5 Actions: The Standard Response Protocol (SRP)" in English language and Spanish language.
Students enrolled in Lexington School District Two have free access to the Comet bus system. Students must present their school-issued ID card to the driver for free rides to any location within the bus system seven days a week. Routes and other information at https://catchthecometsc.gov/
Enroll your child today and get ready for the first day of classes on August 5! Families can stop by the district office or their child's school (week of July 28, Monday-Friday during business hours), or enroll online by clicking this link. A photo ID and two proofs of residency are required. (If you do not have proof of residence, or if you have another special circumstance, call Student Services at 803-739-3141). We can't wait to see your child for the start of the new school year on August 5.
Congratulations to the L2IC's Class of 2026! Just a few noteworthy numbers about them: 116 completers, including 20 double completers and 2 triple completers; an estimated $300,000 saved in costs for students who did not have to spend for post-graduation certifications, since they did the work during the high school day at L2IC; and 9 students employed right out of high school thanks to their certifications and work in L2IC programs. Employers included Michelin (Tech Scholars program), Jim Hudson Lexus, Cayce Fire Department, South Tech Systems, Perfect Blend Barbershop, CarolinaPower, and Gregory Electric.
The Board of Trustees will meet October 15 for its next monthly meeting at 6 p.m. at the Lexington Two Performing Arts Center.
