Barbering students cut hair at Lexington Two’s Hispanic Heritage Celebration last fall.

Everyone loves a bargain, and this one helps students in the Barbering program at the Lexington Two Innovation Center earn required hours for licensing.

Students, under the supervision of Innovation Center Barbering instructor Chet Henderson, are now offering free haircuts weekdays, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m.

“From precision cuts to hot towels, come experience the art of barbering from the next generation of barbers,” Henderson said, adding that there is no charge for haircuts but tips for a good cut are accepted.

Henderson said these kinds of opportunities — as well as haircuts students offer at school and community events — help them not only with skills requirements  but also customer service with clients of all ages.

Individuals should check in at the front office at the Innovation Center, 509 Bulldog Blvd., Cayce, and bring an ID for a visitor badge. Then, exit the office out the front door and enter the Barbering door on the left.
